Niagara R2 introduced the concept of a software framework that could normalize the data and behavior of diverse devices, regardless of manufacturer or communication protocol, to enable the implementation of seamless, Internet-connected, web-based systems. Vykon Security is a fully embedded, access control and security alarm monitoring appliance. Vykon Security supports the use of standard browser technology, such as Internet Explorer and Netscape, for accessing the security application. It allows system configuration and management functions to be performed using a standard web browser, thereby eliminating the need for a conventional PC to be installed as part of the security system. This lowers costs and improves reliability and security. Built on the NiagaraAX software framework, Vykon Security will support a network of door control modules and remote input / output devices, and provide global supervisory access control functions over the all devices connected to the Appliance.
